Dash Beam makes end-to-end connections similar to I believe how Tailscale works and it is a very good way to send files no matter the size to any device because it is easily accessible via the browser as well and is even faster speeds if you download the desktop or Android application.

I would highly recommend this video to send videos or photos or any kind of documents to any friends.

What is DashBeam (Previously AltSendme)?

DashBeam is a free and open-source file transfer app that sends files and folders directly between devices over the internet, without uploading them to cloud servers.

Built on Iroh's peer-to-peer networking, DashBeam works across desktop, Android, terminal, and browser. Share a one-time ticket (or send to a paired device), and the transfer runs end-to-end encrypted over QUIC + TLS 1.3. No accounts, no tracking, no size limits.

Features:

  • Cross-platform: Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), Android, CLI, and browser; start on one platform, receive on any other
  • Direct device-to-device: Files move peer-to-peer; no corporate cloud storage
  • No accounts: No sign-ups, tracking, or ads
  • End-to-end encryption: QUIC + TLS 1.3; relays only see encrypted traffic
  • Any size: Files or entire directories, verified with BLAKE3
  • Fast: Designed to saturate multi-gigabit connections (peak measured ~1 Gbps)
  • Resumable: Interrupted transfers resume automatically
  • Broadcast: Share the same file with multiple peers at once
  • Paired devices: Pair once, then send without copying tickets each time
  • Preview before download: See what's being shared before you accept
  • NAT traversal: Automatic hole punching, with relay fallback when needed
  • CLI compatible: Works with the sendme CLI tool
