What is AirStats?

AirStats displays system readings in the menu bar, a drop-down panel, and a desktop widget. It provides sixteen menu bar metrics plus per-core CPU load, memory pressure and top users, GPU, network, disk, battery and connected-device levels, temperature, top processes, uptime, and 24-hour history charts. In 160 paired idle samples on one M3 Pro MacBook Pro, it used 0.046% CPU and 11 MB resident memory, compared with 0.116% and 64 MB for iStat Menus and 1.931% and 145 MB for Stats.

AirStats runs as one 8.9 MB process without a helper, launch agent, or Dock icon. It has fewer sensors than Stats or iStat Menus, much less configuration than iStat Menus, and no fan control. There are no accounts, ads, or analytics SDKs; the only default network request is a weekly Sparkle update check, while the optional public IP lookup is disabled by default. It is MIT licensed, signed and notarized, requires macOS 14 and Apple silicon, and installs with brew install --cask airstats.
