Spotify expands free managed accounts for kids under 13 to new regions
Spotify is expanding free managed accounts for children under 13 to families in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Parents and guardians on any Spotify plan can now create supervised accounts, rather than needing a Premium Family subscription.
Managed accounts provide personalized recommendations based on the child’s listening activity and allow them to create their own playlists. Music videos, Canvas visuals, messaging, and explicit content are disabled by default, while profiles remain private and unsearchable.
Parents can control which songs and artists their children can access and adjust video and explicit content settings during setup. Spotify plans to expand free managed accounts to Canada, New Zealand, and more countries across Europe and Latin America.
