Vivaldi 8.0 rolls out to mobile users with accordion tabs, built-in PDF reader, and more

Following the recent desktop release, Vivaldi 8.0 is now available for mobile devices on both Android and iOS. This update introduces feature parity and new capabilities aimed at improving mobile browsing workflows.

On Android, Vivaldi 8.0 adds accordion-style two-level tab stacks. Users can now expand or minimize groups of tabs, providing easier management of open pages and reducing clutter in the tab bar. This change offers a more minimal approach to handling multiple tabs in mobile environments. Additionally, Android users can now open PDF files directly within Vivaldi browser tabs. Instead of choosing between various external apps, PDF links open natively like regular websites, streamlining document viewing within the browsing session.

Turning to iOS, users gain control over the keyboard accessory view, the bar with autofill and suggestion options above the keyboard. A new setting, “Show Keyboard Accessory View”, lets users choose to hide this bar if preferred. Accessory view remains on by default, but the added choice accommodates different usage styles.

Vivaldi 8.0 is now available to all Android and iOS users through the respective app stores.
