Tower 16 for Mac launches with AI commit messages, redesigned “Working Copy” view and more

Tower 16 for Mac is now available as the latest stable version, arriving one month after its beta release. With this update, the Git client introduces AI-powered commit message generation, responding to a frequently requested feature by users. After staging changes, users can have Tower automatically generate commit messages and descriptions. The new AI tab in settings enables selection between providers such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, with options to add or remove custom prompt presets and choose from preset prompts.

Building on these changes, the “Working Copy” view's commit composing area has been redesigned for improved accessibility. Three new icons now give users quick access to expanded body view, commit templates, and a switch for hard line wrapping. These additions simplify reaching options that were previously hidden, helping users apply templates or maintain clarity in commit descriptions more efficiently.

Alongside these feature additions, Tower 16 for Mac includes performance improvements and various bug fixes, ensuring smoother operation and general enhancements for all users.
