Notion 3.3 launches custom agents for autonomous team automation
Notion 3.3 has been launched, introducing "Custom Agents", its flagship new AI feature aimed at enabling autonomous automation for teams. Once configured, agents run without manual prompting, using triggers or schedules to keep work moving. Teams can co-create and share agents, with permission controls managed similarly to teammate access.
Custom Agents connect with Slack, Figma, Linear, HubSpot, Notion content, Notion Mail, and Notion Calendar via MCP. Agents are set up with plain language instructions, and users can define triggers, sources, and the AI model for each agent.
Notion includes templates for Q&A, task routing, and status update workflows, such as answering repeat questions, routing requests to owners, and generating standups or sprint recaps from connected context. The company says early testers created over 21,000 agents and that it runs 2,800 internally, with admin controls for access and audit logs. Custom Agents are free through May 3, 2026, then will require Notion credits starting May 4, 2026.
