Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn release brings new UI, threaded Talk, Office enhancements and more

The next big version of Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn has been released with a new UI design featuring updated icons, tactile buttons, new backgrounds, and simplified settings. Onboarding has also been improved with example content across core apps and eleven new templates for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, which admins can now manage organization-wide.

Nextcloud Office adds colorful icons, contextual toolbars, and tabbed navigation for clearer editing, while Nextcloud Talk brings threaded conversations, live AI subtitles, sticker generation, updated call controls, and an improved iOS chat layout. The Nextcloud Assistant expands its privacy-first AI tools with transcription, document summarization, context search, and agent-based tasks such as route planning and document creation.

Performance updates include six times faster uploads with Chunked Upload, doubled iOS upload speeds, optimized virtual file systems on macOS and Windows, and fewer database queries. Mobile apps gain faster file handling, support for iOS 26 Liquid Glass, multitasking, improved navigation, and media zoom on iOS, plus new Android design updates. Collaboration tools like Nextcloud Collectives and Whiteboard, automation with Nextcloud Flow, and integrations with JIRA, GitHub, and Overleaf round out the release
