Framer launches new Design Pages tool for full UI design and one-click web publishing

Framer has introduced a new Design Pages tool, expanding its platform from primarily a no-code web builder into a full-fledged user interface design tool. This feature positions Framer alongside tools like Figma by providing a freeform canvas for iterative design without requiring immediate consideration of responsive layouts, with tools like vector editing, P3 color support, masking, and image exporting integrated directly into the workflow.

Any iteration can be turned into a live web page with one click, eliminating imports and copy-pasting. Once ready, users can add breakpoints for responsive layouts, reducing friction between design and deployment. Framer has also updated Wireframer, its AI-powered layout generator, to work with Design Pages and support multi-page creation. Design Pages is currently free and available to all users, allowing unlimited projects and pages, and are not restricted like the legacy Canvas Pages, which could not convert iterations into web pages directly, whereas Design Pages make that possible instantly.

Funny enough, Figma and Framer are two of the most popular UI/UX design tools that once had different focuses but now seem to be moving into each other’s space, with Figma recently introducing Figma Sites for no-code web design and Framer launching Design Pages as a more traditional UI design tool similar to Figma, Penpot, or the highly anticipated Paper Design.
