Navidrome 0.57 released with plugin support, UI enhancements and more accurate quick scans
Navidrome 0.57 introduces experimental support for plugins, allowing users to extend and customize this open source, web-based music collection server and streamer. The update delivers a wide set of user interface enhancements such as “Artist Radio”, a “Shuffle” option on artist pages, quick “Play Artist's Top Songs” actions, and improved song “Love” and “Rating” features inside playlist views. The “Add to Playlist” dialog receives a user experience refresh, and users can now highlight specific tracks in playlists via context menu.
Following these UI upgrades, the release adds a configuration tab in the About dialog, support for sorting tracks using RecentlyAddedByModTime
, and a new “Now Playing” admin panel that enables monitoring of active streams. Folder hashing has also been introduced, allowing quicker and more reliable detection of music library changes during scans.
For users focused on metadata, Navidrome now allows searching for albums, artists, and songs by their MusicBrainz ID, while smart playlists gain multi-field sorting and MusicBrainz ID support. Additional improvements include an agent to fetch artist images from the Deezer API, new endpoints for play queue management, a main credit
statistic, and Prometheus metrics for API monitoring. Multiple minor enhancements and bug fixes round out the release.
