Instagram Edits adds teleprompter, overlays, and script controls for creators
Instagram latest update to the Edits tool introduces a teleprompter, allowing creators to read scripts while recording videos. Accessing the teleprompter requires tapping the record button and selecting the icon from five options in the left-side panel, where it appears below zoom, timer, and overlay controls.
Creators can directly input their script, then change the text size and scroll speed using sliders at the bottom left of the interface. Alongside the teleprompter, Instagram has added new overlays and additional insights, making Edits more capable for in-app content creation. The new features aim to make Edits more competitive with CapCut, which remains the preferred app for many creators, especially if they’re aimed at TikTok.
Instagram announced the changes via its Creators account and invited users to share feedback on future improvements.
