Raycast 1.98 adds Model Context Protocol support and MCP tools integration
Raycast 1.98 has introduced integration with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling users to significantly expand how they connect the app to local productivity tools. By installing any local stdio
server, such as Brave Search, GitHub, JetBrains, Google Drive, Notion, or ElevenLabs, users can now access these servers' tools directly from Quick AI and AI Chat. Access is as simple as mentioning the tool within Raycast, mirroring the existing behavior for AI Extensions.
This update also adds a new “Confirm Always” action for tool confirmations within AI Extension and MCP Server features. Users can manage and reset allowed tools through the AI Extension and MCP Server settings or from the general AI settings menu, providing greater flexibility in managing confirmations.
A change to the @location
tool now requires it to be explicitly mentioned before it can be used in AI commands. Additionally, Raycast 1.98 addresses several stability issues, including crashes related to opening Markdown links during message rendering, rare crashes when pasting file attachments into AI Chat, and occasional issues with the @location
AI Extension.
