Apple Music can now transfer your library & playlists from Spotify & other music services
Apple Music has introduced a new feature allowing users to transfer their music libraries and playlists from music streaming services like Spotify and Deezer. The transfer capability is directly integrated into the Apple Music app on iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and the web, making it easier for users on different platforms to migrate content. This new option relies on SongShift, a third-party service that helps users move songs, albums, and playlists between supported streaming platforms.
While all device platforms support initiating transfers, there are a few limitations. Transfer features vary depending on the source service, and only playlists created by users can be moved to Apple Music — service-generated playlists are excluded. Additionally, not all content from other services may be available or have an exact match in the Apple Music catalog. To address this, users have 30 days after the initial transfer to review unmatched music and select alternate versions to add to their libraries and playlists.
Currently, this transfer functionality is available only in Australia and New Zealand. Apple has not yet announced when users in other regions will receive the same option, though signs point to a possible broader rollout in the near future.
