Blackmagic Camera 2.1 for Android is out with improved remote control & other enhancements

Blackmagic Design has released version 2.1 of its Blackmagic Camera app for Android, which allows transforming your iOS and Android devices into professional digital film cameras. The update introduces remote control capabilities for Blackmagic PYXIS 6K and Blackmagic URSA Cine cameras, enhancing versatility for filmmakers.

Audio support for off-speed recordings has been added, alongside compatibility with motorized Insta360 gimbals. The app now features Zebra for mid-grey region and null threshold, providing users with advanced exposure tools. Xiaomi 14 Ultra users can now benefit from camera Grip support, while a new color space tag option for Look-Up Tables (LUTs) has been introduced, offering greater color grading flexibility.

The update also improves resolution and frame rate compatibility for Samsung, Sony, and Xiaomi devices, ensuring broader device support. General performance and stability enhancements round out the update, making it a robust tool for filmmakers.
