Blackmagic Camera 3.4 for iOS brings more Apple Watch controls and remote camera manager

Blackmagic Design has released version 3.4 of Blackmagic Camera for iOS, following its debut on Android last week. This update introduces extended Apple Watch integration, allowing users to control camera functions directly from their wrist. In addition, the inclusion of an Apple Watch complication offers quick access to the companion app.

For users with advanced setups, the update adds support for remote control through the Blackmagic Camera REST API and a new remote camera manager, expanding integration and automation possibilities. The accessory workflow gains further flexibility, with the ability to map focus and zoom demand from accessory settings and improved focus lock when using external lenses.

Building on these changes, the update debuts a proxy clip manager, enabling the review and management of proxy media. Users now have options to delete proxy files when removing media. In addition, live-streaming sees interface improvements with separate selection options for router and destination.

To address user concerns, the update resolves front camera issues specific to iPhone 17 models, addresses peak indicator refresh and stereo channel inversion bugs, and fixes off speed control range irregularities in remote workflows. Moreover, users can now update existing presets, and the release includes general performance and stability enhancements.
