ExpressVPN finally adds a GUI to its Linux app alongside several new major features
ExpressVPN has introduced a major update for its Linux users by launching a graphical user interface (GUI), eliminating the need for command line interactions. This new interface mirrors the user experience found in ExpressVPN's Mac and Windows applications and includes both light and dark modes, available in 17 languages.
The updated app maintains ExpressVPN's robust security and privacy features while adding several new capabilities. Key features include a network lock kill switch, advanced kill switch, split tunneling, and post-quantum protection. Users can also benefit from advanced protection features to block ads, trackers, and malicious content, along with VPN protocol options like Lightway and OpenVPN. With servers in 105 countries, the app ensures global connectivity to all users.
Additionally, the app offers auto-connect functionality and the option to enable LAN access. The new ExpressVPN Linux app is currently available for beta testing, supporting 64-bit systems on Ubuntu 24.04+, Debian 10+, Fedora 30+, Raspberry Pi OS Buster, Linux Mint 20+, and Arch. Both GUI and CLI options are available, providing flexibility for users who prefer command line control.
