GitHub Copilot introduces GPT-4o Code Completion model in VS Code as a public preview

The GitHub Copilot GPT-4o code completion model has been launched in public preview for Visual Studio Code users, offering enhanced code completion capabilities. Built on the GPT-4o Mini, this model has undergone additional training using data from over 275,000 high-quality public repositories across more than 30 programming languages.

Users can enable GPT-4o Copilot by accessing the Copilot menu in VS Code or using the Command Palette. While Copilot Business and Enterprise users need an administrator to activate the model, free-tier users can also access it, with usage counting toward their monthly limit of 2,000 free completions.

Soon, the model will be available for all JetBrains IDEs, further expanding GitHub Copilot's AI-powered code completion features. This integration provides developers with enhanced multi-language support, assisting them in a wide range of programming tasks.
