WebStorm 2025.3 brings updates to type engine, monorepo, AI assistants & remote debugging
JetBrains has released WebStorm 2025.3, introducing a gradual rollout of a service-powered type engine, aimed at delivering more accurate TypeScript type evaluation for developers. Alongside, module resolution and monorepo workflows see significant improvements, especially benefiting projects using pnpm and Nx workspaces.
Building on these technical upgrades, the integrated AI assistant now supports both Claude agent and Junie in a single chat, broadening interactive help and code assistance. Remote debugging capabilities expand for JavaScript developers, offering support across Windows Subsystem for Linux, Docker, and development containers. The new option to launch a browser locally during remote sessions streamlines web project testing and inspection.
For front-end developers, Webref-aligned CSS syntax is now supported, including the latest specification features and functions like round(), rem(), and mod(). A unified JavaScript runtime settings page consolidates configuration for Node.js, Bun, and Deno, making environment setup more straightforward. Additionally, support for Vitest 4 ensures correct test discovery and execution with the latest test framework version.
This release also introduces a series of fixes and quality-of-life enhancements, affecting TypeScript, Angular, Vue, Astro, and Prettier, which further refine the user experience.
