TIDAL launches new tools for songwriters to manage catalogs and maximize royalties
TIDAL has introduced a suite of tools aimed at supporting songwriters in the United States, accessible via TIDAL Artist Home. These tools are designed to help songwriters manage their catalogs more effectively and ensure they receive proper compensation. Key features include the ability to categorize works into Completed Works, Works Without Recordings, and Unmatched Recordings. Additionally, songwriters can use collaborative split sheets to track rightsholders and invite collaborators to confirm their share of a work.
The platform also offers robust metadata management, enabling songwriters to view and manage their credits and metadata for accurate matching and registration. To facilitate the collection of mechanical royalties, TIDAL encourages songwriters to register with the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) through TIDAL Artist Home. For those new to Performance Rights Organizations (PROs), TIDAL provides an option to register with AllTrack, a digital PRO.
By using these features, songwriters can maximize their royalties and ensure accurate ownership documentation. U.S.-based songwriters can claim their songwriter profile at tidal.com/forsongwriters to access these resources.
