LibreOffice 24.8: Major update adds ARM support, privacy enhancements, and UI improvements
LibreOffice has just launched version 24.8, introducing a host of new features and key improvements. This update marks the first major release to offer an official package for Windows PCs powered by ARM processors.
Privacy enhancements are a significant highlight, allowing users to exclude personal information — such as author names, timestamps, editing duration, and more — when saving documents.
LibreOffice Writer sees user interface improvements, an enhanced navigator, and better hyphenation. LibreOffice Calc adds new functions, improves threaded calculation performance, and optimizes redraw after cell changes.
LibreOffice Impress and Draw now allow scrolling between slides in normal view, with notes available as a collapsible pane. LibreOffice Chart benefits from improved chart types and other enhancements.
Additionally, version 24.8 includes various accessibility, security, and interoperability improvements, further solidifying its position as a robust office suite and alternative to Microsoft Office.
