Google tests drag-and-drop file support and recent searches on Chrome for Android

Google is testing new drag-and-drop file support on Google Chrome for Android, similar to its desktop version. This feature, enabled by default in version 129 available on the Dev channel for both Android and desktops, allows users to move files within the browser or between the browser and other applications. A Chromium commit titled "Enable DragDropFiles for M129" confirms this functionality.

Users can now drag and drop images into documents or emails, move files between tabs or windows, or save links as bookmarks. This update is significant as Chrome for Android currently lacks native drag-and-drop support.

Additionally, Chrome for Android is experimenting with a "Recent Searches" feature, which suggests related searches at the bottom of the address bar as users type. The inclusion of this feature will be evaluated based on user feedback to improve the search experience.
