Slack introduces 'Slack Lists', bringing project and task management to the platform

Salesforce has launched Lists for Slack, a new feature aimed at enhancing project and task management within the platform. This tool allows users to monitor and manage tasks without needing to switch applications or channels, promoting seamless collaboration. The interface includes both board and list views, similar to popular project management tools like Asana or Quire

The Lists feature is designed to bring structure to Slack conversations, reducing time spent on repetitive tasks and minimizing the need for additional software. With Lists, users can visualize assigned tasks, monitor their status, and manage details such as priority, due date, and file attachments. Teams can organize tasks in various views, including list, board, or group list views, according to their preferences. Users can also mention specific team members in comments to facilitate direct conversations and align on task progress within the list item.

Lists also integrates with Slack's Workflow Builder, allowing users to automate tasks within their workflows without any coding. This feature is rolling out to all paid Slack plans, with availability extending to all users in the coming months. By introducing Lists, Slack aims to centralize project management within its platform, while positioning itself as a compelling alternative to other project management platforms like Taiga.io, Basecamp or the previously mentioned Asana.
