The Browser Company finally launches the Windows version of the Arc Web Browser
The Browser Company has launched the Windows version of its Arc Browser web browser after a successful testing phase with over 150,000 users.
Previously, Arc was only accessible on Mac through an invite-only system. But in July 2023, it was made available to all users, creating a waitlist of over 1 million people. The Windows version of Arc, like the Mac version, is built using Apple Swift, allowing for easier maintenance and future feature parity.
Arc for Windows maintains core features from the Mac version, such as the sidebar for frequently visited pages, Spaces for tab organization, and split view for multitasking. It introduces a new feature, Peek, for quick link previews, and Arc Sync for seamless access to browsing data across devices. The Windows version supports touchscreen functionality but lacks some features like Little Arc, a floating browser window. Thus, Arc for Windows stands out as one of the most polished and innovative alternatives to Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (they even joke about it at the end of the presentation trailer).
Arc is currently exclusive to Windows 11, but there are plans to expand compatibility to Windows 10. The Browser Company has not yet provided a specific timeline for this expansion but maintains that feature parity between the Mac and Windows versions is a priority.

Amazing that not only did they made an effort to port it in with Swift, but also somehow is the first browser to use WinUI 3 which is the modern Windows' native UI framework.
So this means that Arc Browser will look more at home in Windows than even Windows' built-in browser!
Do I see that right: I have to make an account before I can use it? A mandatory account for a browser?!
