Ardour 8.5 update enhances Linux support, improves debugging, and expands DAW capabilities

The latest update of the open-source Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Ardour 8.5, has resolved a crash issue from its previous version and enhanced Linux support. It introduces automatic handling of SIG32, simplifying Ardour's use on Linux systems and improving the debugging process.

The update also includes better AAF import support for integration with other DAWs, expanded capabilities of Reasonable Synth with pitch bend support, and broadened debugging options with G/YTK debug for deeper insight into the DAW's operation.

In addition, Ardour 8.5 introduces two new Lua APIs for setting plugin properties, offering finer control over plugin behavior. It also brings in grid lines for triplets, quintuplets, and septuplets, enhancing rhythmic precision during composition and editing. The user interface sees improvements with clearer control point positioning and added drum names to general MIDI MIDNAM files for improved MIDI mapping and compatibility.

The update resolves several issues, which you can check in full detail here.
