Affinity 2.4 adds layer states, DWG/DXF support, and more to Designer, Publisher and Photo
Affinity has launched the 2.4 update for its suite, including Affinity Designer, Affinity Publisher, and Affinity Photo, with numerous enhancements and new features.
The Layer States tool, which manages project variations, is now available in Designer and Publisher, allowing users to change layer visibility across documents. Besides, Designer now supports DWG and DXF exports, enabling integration with CAD tools and applications, although it's not suitable for collaborative work with Autodesk AutoCAD due to format inconsistencies.
The 2.4 update also introduces the 'Set selection box' command for permanent selections, a double-click/tap function for switching between Node and Move Tool with vector objects, and the 'Filename' variable for customizing exported filenames. Users can also lock insertion targets and toggle the 'Lock Children' feature while transforming objects. The update improves space distribution, introduces options for standardizing item dimensions, extends support for 32-bit HDR PNG files across all Affinity apps, and supports over 50 new camera models, enhancing compatibility and performance for photographers.
