AutoCAD is a software application for both 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting — available since 1982 as a desktop application and since 2010 as a mobile web- and cloud-based app, currently marketed as Autocad 360.
AutoCAD is used across a range of industries, including architects, project managers and engineers, among other professions. AutoCAD's DWG file format has been widely adopted.
AutoCAD offers an extensive API for extensions and custom objects, a modern 3D rendering engine and modeling tools, and several import and export options.
A free 30-day trial version is available with registration. Perpetual licences for this product were no longer sold after 31 July 2016.
Subscription that costs between $123 and $185. Price may vary depending on commitment and so on.

Make this page better by adding screenshots to Autodesk AutoCAD.
It currently indicate OsX, android, etc.. THIS IS WRONG.
The shitty autocad is only for Windows.
As title suggest
3D parametric drawings should be done in solidworks
3D based architectural drawings should be done in revit
The industry standard for civil and structural engineers when drawing in 2D, lots of useful features. However, there are cheaper options out there which also work well if you're prepared to find them and learn a new interface.
By far, this is the most complete CAD program. It has an easy to use interface with a lot of tool for drawing easily.
AutoCAD's interface is quite messed up--and i am a long time user of it. Its too complicated for nothing...
When you look for an alternative to Auto-CAD software, carefully evaluate below points:
Some free tools are good for basic drafting work but may not be suitable for a professional project. Try some low cost alternatives like ActCAD Professiona.
Autocad is very good to work. It is a system that allows you to design your ideas with the convenience of the utilities that it offers you.
Free alternatives to AutoCAD you can find on (1 - in english) and (2 - in german).
Free alternatives, which can read and store dwg- and dxf-files are DoubleCAD XT, LiteCAD, A9CAD, pCon.planner6 (6 languages). DoubleCAD XT (is very similar to AutoCAD). Why it is by far better than AutoCAD LT 2010, you see in the "Comparison AutoCAD LT & DoubleCAD XT Pro 2.0": (3)
