Plex unveils redesigned mobile app with simpler navigation and unified media integration
Plex has introduced a preview of its revamped experience for mobile platforms, with updates for TV platforms expected soon, and a public release planned for early 2025. This redesign aims to integrate personal media, on-demand content, and discovery into a unified experience. The update features a simplified navigation system with intuitive layouts, a dedicated media library tab for personal collections, and a streamlined user menu for easy access to profiles, watch history, and connected services.
The app also boasts enhanced artwork and updates to movie/show pages, cast profiles, and personal profiles. Plex's apps have been rebuilt to unify the codebase across platforms. The redesign also sets the stage for quicker feature rollouts and better integration with companion apps like Plexamp, Plex Photos, and Plex Dash.
The full release is planned for 2025, but interested users can already try this new version by following the instructions in the forum. iOS users interested in testing can join via the forums, although spots are limited.
