YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix won't support Apple's Vision Pro headset at launch

According to Bloomberg, it has been revealed that major media apps like YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix won't launch native apps for Apple's upcoming mixed-reality headset and operating system, visionOS. All three platforms have advised their users to access content via the Safari web browser on the device, as their existing iPad apps will not be compatible.

Despite the lack of dedicated apps from these popular streaming services, the Vision Pro will include Apple Music and Apple Podcasts, as well as full support for Apple TV, thus providing an official alternative to these services.

There are also other confirmed alternatives like HBO Max, Disney+, Peacock, and Prime Video that will be available on February 2 when Vision Pro is launched. Although it is not 100% certain that the 3 platforms mentioned earlier will not offer native support in the future, their current absence might impact the adoption of this highly anticipated new device, priced at $3,499.
