Brave Search API expands to include Image, News, and Video results following user feedback
The Brave Search team has integrated Image, News, and Video search results into the Brave Search API, a feature first launched in May. This upgrade is accessible to all subscribers in the Data for Search, Data for AI, and Data with storage rights categories at no extra cost. However, Autosuggest and Spellcheck plan subscribers will need to upgrade to access these new search results.
This integration was driven by user feedback, with Image and Video results being the most requested product updates for the API, which makes sense considering that last month Brave Search (public) introduced its own image and video search index, reducing its dependence on other search engines.
The inclusion of image and video search results aligns with Brave's core mission this mission, prioritizing innovation in the search industry and user privacy. Users can provide feedback and anonymously contribute to the search index through the Web Discovery Project.
