Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25905: Return to RS_PRERELEASE, new features, and early implementation of Rust kernel features

The latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25905 has been launched on the Canary Channel. It displays a change in the desktop watermark, indicating a return to RS_PRERELEASE from ZN_RELEASE. The build brings back some features that were removed temporarily during the ZN_RELEASE switch and also includes new features from the Dev Channel such as Dev Drive, Backup and Restore improvements, Dynamic Lighting, and Windows App SDK versions of File Explorer and Gallery.

This build includes a significant update: the early implementation of crucial kernel features in Rust, a programming language known for its safety and reliability. However, Arm32 UWP applications will no longer function in Windows on Arm after the upgrade. To address this, a message will be shown during setup listing the installed Arm32 applications, and users are recommended to force the Microsoft Store to install any pending application updates before upgrading. After the upgrade, Arm32 applications can be reinstalled manually from the Microsoft Store.

The build also introduces PostAuthenticationAction, to Windows LAPS, which allows for the termination of individual processes. This feature is complemented by an option in the PostAuthenticationActions Group Policy for resetting passwords, logging off managed accounts, and terminating any remaining processes. Additionally, event logging messages have been expanded to provide more detailed insights into these operations. There's also new emojis in 3D like appearance with support coming soon to some apps and browsers (those designs were previously available on Microsoft Teams). The Microsoft Store has also been updated to display pricing information about the lowest prices in the past 30 days and to introduce AI Hub, a section showcasing the best AI experiences created by Microsoft and the developer community, as we reported a few months ago..

That should be disaster. Kernel should be under control of mature developers with full knowledge of C++.
