Google's RCS Messaging app to get AI-Powered typing assistant Magic Compose
Google is reportedly working on enhancing its Google Messages app with AI-powered features. Among these features are Smart Reply and Suggested Actions. However, what has been catching people's attention recently is a new AI-powered typing assistant called "Magic Compose." The typing assistant uses AI to suggest personalized replies in the context of the conversation.
According to leaked screenshots from 9to5Google, Magic Compose will offer users replies in different formats such as formal, chill, short or even lyrical. The feature will provide users with multiple reply samples to choose from, and suggestions can be customized to the user's input prompt. It is currently marked as an "Experiment" feature and still under development.
While Magic Compose's personalized replies may sound like a fantastic addition to Google's messaging app, users should be aware about privacy implications to consider. Despite this, Magic Compose has a more playful and dinamic branding compared to Google Docs and Gmail "Help me write" feature, since this is more focused to casual or informal use.
Currently, Magic Compose appears on the same page as other features like Smart Reply and Nudges in the Google Messages settings. Those who are eager to try it out can access it earlier by installing the Messages by Google app from the Google Play Store and enrolling in beta testing. Overall, Magic Compose is an exciting addition to Google's messaging app, and users will undoubtedly enjoy the convenience of personalized and quick replies in the context of their conversations.
