Google Messages Introduces Snapchat-Like Face Filters for Photos and Videos
Google is enhancing its Google Messages app for Android by adding Snapchat-like face filters. This new feature, which was initially tested earlier this month, is now being rolled out to users. It allows them to apply face filters when taking photos or videos through the app's camera.
A new button has been added to the left of the camera shutter button in the in-app camera interface. This button activates the front-facing camera and enables the filters, which are also compatible with the rear camera. Users can choose from nine different face filters, including a bunny, a dinosaur, a basic touch-up, and various hats, by long-pressing the shutter button or switching to the video tab.
Despite the rollout, the feature is not yet widely available and may take some time to reach all users, even those on the latest beta version of the app.
