Google's AI chatbot, Bard, upgraded to provide detailed responses to YouTube video queries
Google has introduced an upgrade to its AI chatbot, Google Gemini, which now allows it to respond to specific queries about YouTube videos. Initially launched in September, Bard's original function was to assist users in finding specific videos. However, the new update enables the chatbot to provide detailed information about the content of the videos.
This new feature is Bard's first step towards understanding YouTube videos, thereby enabling users to have more in-depth conversations by asking specific questions about the video content. For instance, users can now inquire about the number of eggs required for a recipe in a cooking video.
In response to user demand for deeper engagement with video content, the YouTube Extension for Bard has been updated. This development follows YouTube's experiments with new AI features aimed at enhancing user interaction with video content, including an AI conversational tool and a comments summarizer. However, at the same time, it raises uncertainty and discontent among many content creators, as these advancements may result in a loss of users viewing their content.
