Elon destroyed Twitter.
I've lost my accounts because he now wants my biometric data from the mobile app. Not happening. And I don't know how I've bothered using Twitter despite all of the bad changes, excessive captchas, shadowbanning, spam bots everywhere...
The site is super trash now. Vibe-coded to hell.
X has to be the best place to keep up with a wide array of interests I have. Make sure to use the "following" tab on mobile if you want to focus on only the users you follow, or use lists to really drill down.

Helps me stay updated on everything from my friends' lives to current events.
I really do NOT trust Twitter. Why? Well because before I start using any tool I do a research about its behaviors, challenges, strengths. After using Twitter for years, the following is a summary of my findings about why I really do NOT trust Twitter.
The bad • Shadow ban. Which is very unethical. If you're not familiar with "shadow ban" it means Twitter ban you, but you do not know you were banned, because you keep posting. But nobody sees your content. Abhinav Vadrevu, former software engineer at Twitter was caught on video saying this at https://youtu.be/64gTjdUrDFQ?t=25s
• Down rank. If you're not familiar with "down rank" it means Twitter try to get you to not show up in the search results. Olind Hassan, Policy Manager at Twitter was caught on video saying this https://youtu.be/64gTjdUrDFQ?t=1m22s
• Twitter present itself as politically neutral. But they do NOT behave like that. Instead many Twitter staff actively do political targetting, bias, promote one political agenda, and censorship of your content if they disagree with it. Source at https://youtu.be/64gTjdUrDFQ
• They easily cave in on the U.S. government. Which frequently and repeatedly asks Twitter to censor user’s content. Pranay Singh, Direct Messaging Engineer at Twitter was caught on video saying this https://youtu.be/64gTjdUrDFQ?t=6m23s Alternative source at https://www.projectveritas.com/2018/01/11/undercover-video-twitter-engineers-to-ban-a-way-of-talking-through-shadow-banning-algorithms-to-censor-opposing-political-opinions/
• Potentially not secure. Because the code is not available publicly. So it can not be review by the public. In other words, there is a risk of abuse.
• It is own by a for-profit corporation. It is not owned by a not-for-profit community. Usually a corporation first priority is to hoard money. Not serve you and protect your privacy.
The good
• None I could think of
Notes
• If you need freedom of speech, openness, diversity, you might be interested to consider alternatives. Such as https://Minds.com or https://DiasporaFoundation.org
... and now we can add:
true. they shadowbanned my account too because I promoted many legitimate articles that expose the lies/true nature of muslims community in sri lanka.
@tihedomecu They Are Really Maniac, They Even Shadow Ban You Because You Expose Muslim Conditions On Sri Langka? Does That Thing Even Have Problem With Twitter Restrictions, I Better Tell My Friends To Kick Twitter As Hard As They Can
What would you say now that Musk owns it?
Seems drastic censorship and shadowbans are no longer common.
What would you say now that Musk owns it?
As of now 2024, I still do not feel any courageous freedom of speech on X/Twitter. My account is still banned at https://twitter.com/francewhoa since 2020.
Every few months. I asked why they ban my account? If they have any questions or concerns about my account? Asked to unban me? No reply years since 2020.

Musk didn't buy until 2022, why not make a new account?
It was a nice platform that until was bought buy Musk, now it's a hate speech and far-right propaganda network.

X (formerly known as Twitter) is a fast-paced social platform built around real-time conversations, news, and global interaction. It excels at delivering instant updates, trending topics, and direct access to public figures, brands, and communities.
Features like Spaces (live audio), Communities, and content monetization add depth beyond simple posting, making it a versatile platform for both casual users and creators.
Cons: Content quality can be inconsistent, and the platform can feel noisy or overwhelming depending on your feed.
Verdict: A powerful tool for staying informed and engaging in real-time discussions, especially if you value speed and global reach.
I used to like X. But now X is going to more drastic to violate copyrighted images by adding "free editing with AI" feature. I feel sad to many digital artist in this platform. That policy is really doing bad to for respecting creativity around the world.
Not only that, X will be a lot of fake news & deepfakes, thanks to AI BS & some techbros pro-AI
Mastodon, Bluesky, are much better than X. You all should move totally from this platform.
