Lovely interface for the terminal, which I can quickly use and hide. This fits my use cases perfectly. Also very customizable, although the way the menus for that are set up is kind of dreadful. I only managed to enable transparency after 4 years of using it

What is Yakuake?
Yakuake is a drop-down (Quake-style) terminal emulator based on KDE Konsole technology. Its design was inspired from consoles in computer games such as Quake which slide down from the top of the screen when a key is pressed, and slide back up when the key is pressed again. Yakuake, in the same way as Kate, KDevelop and Konqueror, relies on Konsole to offer the terminal functionality, embedding it in the application as a KPart component.

Zooms in and out nicely with Ctl+Mousewheel
Goes on all my machines. The dropdown is irreplaceable.
very cool concept yeah as in drop down terminal. so much i cloned this functionality for an emacs frame through i3wm, so i can not only have a drop-down shell, but also anything that is able to run on Emacs like a text editor :p

Terminal on-demand with a hotkey. Can be customised to be transparent and fullscreen. Love it and been using for years.
