Media center allowing to watch movies, series, YouTube channels instantly. You can watch in HD, with subtitles, and easily cast any file to TV through DLNA, Chromecast, AppleTV!
Stremio vs Kodi opinions
I s one the best alternative software, 1- is free, 2- give choice to watch a TV show or movie, 3- the quality of content range from media to high and 4- the speed is quite good, the only small issue with this soft, is adaptability to remote control, and l think that they can correct soon..
Easy to use, fast and allows more content. From my experience this is what I expected of Kodi, but now I am missing a few features ;)
Kodi can access local (NAS in the same network) files. Stremio can not and therefore is no alternative.
jimmilesmailIt won't import folders or files from my local collection. Makes it useless to me.
Super easy and fast to use. Excelent! The best!

Emby vs Kodi opinions
davidjuniorsaylorEmby has a way nicer UI than KODI and it's way easier to setup (atleast on Linux Ubuntu 20 anyway. You can browse through your media by alphabet (the one feature that KODI and Netflix both lack).
Like Plex, Emby is a server/player hybrid. Allowing you to manage users with unique watch histories and transcoding for any device. The player is robust, covering Windows, iOS, Android, Windows Phone amongst others, along with the most robust web player on the market.

Jellyfin is a personal media server and client. The Jellyfin project was started as a result of Emby's decision to take their code closed-source, as well as various philosophical differences with the core developers.
Jellyfin vs Kodi opinions
davidjuniorsaylorbest fully free option to choose from right now.. jellyfin is a clone of emby and emby isn't fully free
pandaM3CH4I preferred Jellyfin to Kodi because JF is free and worked without any hassle between a Windows 10 PC and an Android TV. And for a lot of filetypes!
The only player you will ever need. Stunning video quality thanks to advanced engine. Video conversion optimized for social media. Innovative and fully customizable user interface. In one word - Splash.

MediaPortal vs Kodi opinions
rsbruxMediaPortal is a fully featured system which can install everything you need in one pass. Despite the URL "kodi.tv", Kodi does not include a TV backend and depends on the installation of a TV service like DVBviewer or MediaPortal to provide TV features, like watching or recording TV.
