Excellent program that does what it is supposed to do.
It does not support node.js, does not provide SSL certificates, and it is difficult to ensure a consistent development environment for team use. It is 2024, and they have not updated to do these. Your competitors Docker and Servbay are making progress.
I never hear of ServBay, is it good?
You can try it. I think it is the best environment deployment tool at present.
I used to use XAMPP, but recently I switched to Node.js. I was disappointed that XAMPP was updating too slowly. Many new tools have surpassed XAMPP, such as Docker and Servbay, which all support node.js.
Unfortunatelly on linux is not possible use with different php version on projects.
the best portable server web solution
I've been using XAMPP for years to develop websites, both on Windows, and more recently on Mac, and always found it extremely easy for creating & testing local sites & scripts. NB. I did find it to be a bit more involved when setting up on a Mac though, so if you encounter problems with access permissions follow the advice at this page. It solved the issue for me: WORDPRESS + XAMPP ON MAC UPDATE PERMISSIONS PROBLEM - http://dustinbolton.com/wordpress-xampp-on-mac-update-permissions-problem/
Websites cannot read and write SQL database if you're running XAMPP for OS X (Native version) on macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, neither XAMMP can export the SQL database.
What error message are you getting?
