    No more faffing about in powershell with scripts, a truly all-in-one solution to undo the malice Microsoft implements. Really like the appearance and theme options. The Win7 volume mixer is so much better than 10, it's staggering. The universal drag and drop options also resolved some weirdness with Qttabbar, a file explorer program.

    The one problem I have encountered is forcing Aero theme doesn't change font colors making the clock and file explorer address bar hard to read.

I've tried this one and Ultimate Windows Tweaker, and I just found this one a lot easier to use. It's also really nice how under nearly every screen there's a link that reads "See in detail how this tweak works" so you can get an understanding of what the heck it even is.

Windows seems to give users less access to quality of life settings with every update. Luckily Winaero Tweaker changes that.

Some of my personal favorite tweaks offered are:

  • Restoring auto-logins
  • Chaning OEM & registration information
  • Adding/removing libraries from File Explorer
  • Disable Windows updates
  • Hide paes in Settings
  • Adding a custom start up message
  • Use a custom start up sound
  • Kill all non-responding applications
  • Disable Microsoft's telemetry
  • Remove " - Shortcut" from created shortcuts

Great for making elevated rights shortcuts (listed under Shortcuts). Also, found about 60% of the Speed Tweaks that are Premium on BootRacer

What is Winaero Tweaker?

Winaero Tweaker is a universal tweaker software which supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Features and options

  • Windows 11 features
    • Enable the full context menus without the 'Show more options' item.
    • The ability to restore the classic taskbar
    • Enable Ribbon in File Explorer
    • Change taskbar screen position, e.g. you can move it to the top
    • Change taskbar size
    • Disable background apps, all at once.
  • Shortcut tools that you can use
    • To launch an app as Administrator without a UAC confirmation.
    • To directly open any Control Panel applet or system folder.
    • To directly open any Settings page.
    • To create shortcuts to the classic Shut Down Windows dialog (Alt+F4), and Safe Mode.
    • To remove or customize the shortcut arrow overlay icon.
    • To remove the " - shortcut" suffix.
    • To remove blue arrows from compressed files.
  • Manage Windows apps and features.
    • Restore the classic search in File Explorer without Internet options

    • Rename and change the icon for the Quick Access entry.
    • Increase the taskbar transparency level.
    • Show time seconds in the taskbar clock.
    • Disable blur for the sign-in screen.
