VoiceReader is a free text-to-speech Chrome extension that reads any web page aloud in natural voices. Press play and it reads the article — highlighting each sentence as it goes so you can follow along — and remembers where you left off. It's reader-aware, so it reads the article, not the menus and sidebars. The free tier uses your device's built-in voices: no API key, no account, nothing leaves your computer to read aloud. Optional premium neural voices are pay-as-you-go credit packs — no subscription.
