Good 2D/3D CAD program. 3D modeling is well implemented. VariCAD, especially 3D modelling, is well suited for me to professionally design machines under Linux operating system. But the poor functionality of the 2D drawing tools and the poor interaction with the support forum undermine the benefits of the program. PROS:
Conclusion: VariCAD is not ideal, but it is fit its purpose and has good value for money. However, without improving the tools for 2D drawing, it will not be popular.
Because I designed a fuel system block that grossed 500k the first year in marketed. Got my moneys worth on that CAD package. Who needs solidworks or autocad? not me. Simple to switch between 3d and 2d of the same drawing too.
