What is tuhat?
Finnish for one thousand is a platform for long-form writing. No threads, no microblogging, no hot takes. Originally posts had to be at least 1,000 words to be posted, although as new languages were added and use cases considered that was eventually dropped. Even still, tuhat remains a home for considered writing, regardless of ultimate length.
Each writer gets their own page. Your words live at tuhat.net/@you. No algorithm decides who reads you, just a URL you can share.
Following writers
Follow any writer to keep track of their work. Your /reading page collects posts from everyone you follow, a quiet feed of long-form writing, nothing else. No algorithm, no recommendations, no noise. You can even follow writers from other platforms, by subscribing to external RSS feeds. Your readers
People can read you their way. An RSS feed sits on every writer's page for anyone who'd rather use a reader, and a subscribe form on your home page and at the bottom of every post lets readers get new pieces by email, confirmed by them, one-click unsubscribe in every send.
You own the list. If you're moving from another platform, export your subscribers as a CSV and import them at /subscribers. Your readers come with you.
