IMHO it is the a fabulous time killer and it makes much fun to browse pictures.
Tipp: Google for any keyword of your interest and add "tumblr" and you get dozens of ontopic pictures. Add /archive to the tumblr URL and you get a fullscreen overview of all pictures of an tumblr account.
Yahoo just finds new ways to mess up a working system. Everything they touch turns to crap.
Call me weird, but I only liked Tumblr for the AMA roleplay blogs (I lurked around, I didn't actually ask questions or dares). But a year after Yahoo banned adult content (and Automattic acquired it), things got pretty quiet. I don't think these kinds of AMAs and roleplaying are very active anymore.
In 2022(?), Tumblr began to put up a login wall preventing you from getting very far in exploring posts or a blog's archive without an account. And then I guess Tumblr lost its magic.
Not sure now where to go to have a good time with roleplaying and/or AMAs. :/
i used to like when it was free to publish anything without censor. then yahoo changed the policy and turned it into a crap, sad and full of repetitive advertising.
Considerably horrible unless of course you’re a child or perhaps living in North Korea. I personally had 9 Tumblr accounts which were abruptly terminated, A simple warning would have sufficed. Three of my accounts were unjustifiably terminated while possessing not a single nude female or any policy violations whatsoever. I would be overcome with elation to witness the collapse of Tumblr.
Makes it super easy to run a nice micro blog.
I do like it but is more of a social media platform, very little blocking even when content is inappropriate which I think it is their worst aspect. I don't see it as a serious platform where you can actually show your business.
