TSS EcoScreen information
What is TSS EcoScreen?
TSS EcoScreen is a lightweight Windows desktop utility that intelligently manages monitor brightness to save energy and protect your displays.
Unlike basic brightness tools, EcoScreen uses a two-stage dimming system: it pre-dims after short inactivity, then fully dims after a configurable idle timeout — with separate settings per monitor. Hardware dimming (DDC/CI) and software dimming (overlay) are both supported, making it compatible with TVs and monitors without DDC/CI.
Key features:
- Adaptive idle time detection (adjusts based on your usage pattern)
- Per-monitor brightness control and dim settings
- Burn-in protection mode for OLED/AMOLED displays
- Screen break reminders with sound notifications and overlay
- Fullscreen & media detection (won't dim during games or videos)
- Process whitelist (keep specific apps from triggering dimming)
- Energy savings statistics (estimated kWh and CO2 saved)
- HDR-aware dimming
- System tray dashboard with live monitor status
- Dark, light, and custom TSS theme
- Available in English and German
EcoScreen is developed by a solo developer (electronics technician, Thuringia, Germany) and is available as Free, Basic (€5.99), and Pro (€1.49/month) editions via the Microsoft Store and direct download.
