Been using Transmit for years. Simple, lightweight, and easy to use. I like the feature that lets me quickly copy a file on AWS S3 as a URL. Highly recommended.

The ability to mount SFTP shares as drives is fantastic and well worth the $34 asking price.

Panic has panicked Coda was much more stable than Nova. Now, the latest Transmit updates are also destroying the stability of the program. Crashes, inability to correctly manage links, creation and movement of folders with inconsistent and random behavior... The only positive thing is the management and synchronization of favorites, although the impossibility of resizing the favorites column is insane.

I've used Transmit for years. It's simple to use and it works. I don't use FTP a ton, so $45 feels like a bit much for my limited needs, but I still think it's a great app for any who uses a FTP regularly.

A good application but ridiculous upgrade policies. If you've bought v4 before you are expected to pay full price to upgrade to v5. This is almost as bad as the subscription merchants (which is the game Panic plays on the Mac App Store). The developers have aged at Panic and gotten fat and lazy and expect to be overpaid for their software. Looking for a new FTP client and suggest you do the same.

Transmit is a paid FTP client for macOS that supports wide range of Protocols. Transmit supports standard FTP/SFTP as well as WebDAV. Transmit also supports other providers like Box, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. However expanding on the FTP formula you can also connect to object storage buckets like Amazon S3, Rackspace CloudFiles, Microsoft Azure and Backblaze B2.

This wide range of supported options is a great way to keep all of your Cloud Storage solutions in a single ecosystem. On top Transmit also supports Panic Sync and allows you to export your connection setting to something Transmit refers to as "Droplets".

Overall Transmit is worth the $45 USD. I would suggest to buy Transmit from Panic Inc directly, as I'm personally not a major fan of the App Store version.

Since purchasing, Transmit is my primary go to tool to interact with my VPS via SSH transfer as well as to interact with my S3 objects and B2. Previously I have been using Cyberduck, however Cyberduck has some problems with few WebDAV services that I use, as such I moved to Transmit full time and never looked back.

Review from a new or low-activity account — shown here, but not counted in the app rating.

What is Transmit?

The gold standard of macOS file transfer apps just drove into the future. Transmit 5 is here. Upload, download, and manage files on tons of servers with an easy, familiar, and powerful UI. It’s quite good.

Transmit now connects to 11 new cloud services, like Backblaze B2, Box, Google Drive, DreamObjects, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, and Rackspace Cloud Files.

And yes, Transmit still handles the classics — FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, and S3 — better than any. We make complex services drag-and-drop simple.

Transmit 5 now includes Panic Sync, our secure and fast way to sync your sites. (You can learn about Panic Sync here.) And our File Sync feature adds support for local-to-local and remote-to-remote sync, while also giving you more fine-grained control.

We disassembled Transmit’s engine and rebuilt it, again, to significantly boost speed. T5 is better at multithreading and smarter about complex folders. Plus it’s got a new activity view to better focus on what Transmit is doing right now. It’s very fast.
