Tempo: Screen Time Blocker

App blocker where workouts and steps are the only key: blocked apps reopen with minutes of real activity, at the exchange rate you set.

Home: a workout just credited screen minutes; the balance is what's left to spend across every locked app.
The lock screen a blocked app shows at zero balance — no ignore button, the only way back in is to move.

What is Tempo: Screen Time Blocker?

Tempo blocks the apps you choose — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, games — and reopens them only with minutes of real activity. Workouts and steps read from Apple Health or Health Connect fill a balance of screen minutes, at the exchange rate you set (1 minute of exercise for 1, 2 or 3 minutes of screen). While the balance is positive, every blocked app opens; using them drains it by the minute; at zero, everything shuts again — on iPhone, iOS itself enforces the block, even with Tempo closed.

There is no "ignore limit" button, no emergency exit, no code to type: the only way back in is to move. Workouts typed by hand into Health don't count. Earned minutes expire after 24 hours, so you can't bank a week for one Sunday.

No account, no server, no analytics — the App Store listing carries the "Data Not Collected" label. The free version blocks unlimited apps and categories and lets you spend up to 60 screen minutes a day. Tempo Pro raises that cap, sets a rate per sport, reads heart rate from Apple Watch so intense minutes pay more, and adds a strict mode with a 24-hour delay on any loosening.

Available on iPhone (with an Apple Watch companion) and Android.
