What is SVGSketch?
SVGSketch is a browser-based vector graphics editor designed as a GUI wrapper around the official SVG 2 and CSS specifications. Instead of inventing a proprietary format and exporting to SVG as an afterthought, SVGSketch treats SVG as its native document — what you draw is what gets saved, with no lossy conversion step.
Spec-faithful SVG editing — shapes, paths, gradients, filters, masks, clip paths, and text are authored using the same model the browser renders, so exported files behave identically to what you see in the editor. Animation support — build SMIL and CSS animations on a timeline, including motion paths, keyframes, and easing, with full round-trip import/export. Custom fonts and variables — embed custom typefaces and use design tokens / CSS variables for reusable styles and themable artwork. Plugin SDK — extend the editor with custom tools, panels, and import/export formats via a typed plugin API. Cloud sync and sharing — save documents to the cloud, share read-only or editable links, and collaborate on artwork. Open document format — files are plain SVG, so anything you make is portable to any other tool, browser, or build pipeline. Ideal for icon designers, illustrators, technical diagrammers, web developers building animated UI assets, and anyone who wants a vector editor that produces clean, hand-editable SVG output.
