SunsetScreen
Whether you're a morning lark or night owl, SunsetScreen allows you to set the time of the sunset and sunrise, so you can have full control over your sleep cycle.
What is SunsetScreen?
SunsetScreen is a free Windows app (for personal use) which helps take the glare off your your screen in the evening. Scientific research has shown that melatonin - the chemical the brain makes late in the day - is reduced when exposed to blue light. By tempering this blue light, it becomes easier to wind down properly at night, and thus have a more restful sleep.
Whether you're a morning lark or night owl, SunsetScreen allows you to set the time of the sunset and sunrise, so you can have full control over your sleep cycle.

The interface and settings actually make sense, as opposed to f.lux. No unnecessary animations, no phoning home for geolocation (instead you are free to set your own time frame - as it should be). Can be easily tuned to your liking - color temperature, color hue, hotkeys... It's the best. However, the developer gave in to the temptation of a business opportunity (and I don't buy that this program is the only source of their income as they imply on the official site). Therefore, later versions introduced the spyware freemium model. If you don't mind using an older version, you can still obtain the freeware SunsetScreen v1.28 using [Web Archive](https://web.archive.org/web/20180705094720/https://www.skytopia.com/software/sunsetscreen/).
POXadded SunsetScreen as alternative(s) to Gamma Dimmer

Way easier to use then f.lux and works great!

Not as polished as f.lux, but it is way more customizable and gives more control. Plus you can access the full tint range without rebooting. It'd be nice if it had the "Disable for an Hour" or "Disable until Sunrise" options for when I only need a temporary change and don't want to forget to turn it back on, but it's a small sacrifice in exchange for getting all the other features.

simple to use, adjustable hours, good for someone with variable work hours like me.
