Sync.com is a Dropbox-like service, whereas SpiderOak is more for backing up files (though Sync too, but that's less user-friendly). Sync is Canadian, Spideroak is US-based, both offer end-to-end encryption (good for privacy - neither company can read your files). Sync offers no Linux client, but has the better mobile app.
