What is Speedy Monitor?

Speedy Monitor displays the current network upload and download speed right on the Windows 11 taskbar, next to the tray icons – no window, no widget panel, just the numbers at a glance.

It was created because the classic NetSpeedMonitor no longer works on Windows 11: the taskbar toolbar (deskband) technology it relied on was removed. Speedy Monitor recreates that experience as a small, lightweight app.

Features:

  • Upload/download speed on the taskbar, color-coded, with fixed alignment so nothing jumps around
  • Click for statistics: session, today, last 7 days and current month, plus a live graph
  • Daily and monthly history as a bar chart, with CSV export
  • Units selectable (KB/s, MB/s, kbit/s, Mbit/s) and network adapter selectable
  • Optionally shown on the taskbars of all monitors
  • Hides automatically when a fullscreen app or game is running
  • Follows the Windows light/dark theme and stays sharp at any display scaling
  • Counts IPv4 and IPv6; ignores virtual adapters (Hyper-V, WSL, VirtualBox, VMware) to avoid double counting
  • User interface in English and German
  • Installs per user without admin rights; no telemetry, no internet connection – all data stays on your PC
