Sonata Alternatives

    Sonata is described as 'elegant GTK+ music client for the Music Player Daemon (MPD). It has been forked from the unmaintained Pygmy project in order to fix bugs, introduce new features, and proceed down a different path' and is a Audio Player in the Audio & Music category. There are more than 50 alternatives to Sonata for a variety of platforms, including Linux, Windows, Mac, Android and BSD. The best alternative is VLC Media Player, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Sonata are foobar2000 (Free), Clementine (Free, Open Source), Winamp (Freemium) and Audacious (Free, Open Source).
