What is Sioyek?
Features include:
- Ability to click on References and Figures in order to go to their definitions (event if the PDF document doesn't provide links)
- Ability to search all the previously opened documents
- Browser style history navigation
- Ability to mark locations within PDFs using symbols (similar to vim)
- Ability to create "portals" between different locations in a document. For example you can create a portal from a paragraph which is talking about a figure to the figure itself. Then when you navigate to the paragraph, the figure will be automatically displayed in a helper window.
- Dark Mode
- SyncTex support

Comments and Reviews
It has a ton of interesting and unique features for the PDF hoarder
I like the simple layout and that it is portable.
It's not very intuitive. The instructions when you start it do not say anything about navigating to a specific page.
There doesn't seem to be any tabs.
There doesn't seem to be dark mode/color inversion.
Very unique PDF Reader. It's super-fast, super-slim (also comes as a portable app). Not for everyone since it's very keyboard-driven.
Regardless of the keyboard-driven nature, it can be operated by mouse. And there's also very neat built-in helpers that will help learning the app. For instance there's a built-in Tutorial that should bring you up to speed. There's also the : (colon) key for bringing up the Command list, where you can simply search for the operation you're looking to perform. I'd say it's very smart and neatly made despite its geekyness.
Vim-like navigation (hjkl, m marks).
As of Aug 24 2021 the developer is working on a Mac version and there is is a beta available for testing: https://github.com/ahrm/sioyek/issues/15
